Meet Eric Yonce

I was born in Florida and raised in this District, and this community has always been home to me. I grew up in Citra and graduated from North Marion High School. My father served as a police officer in Ocala, and my mother leads the local Realtor Association, helping to make homeownership accessible. From them, I learned the value of hard work, public service, and fighting for community.

I spent more than 20 years working as a manager in big box retail stores across our District. That experience put me face to face with the real challenges working families and small communities deal with every day. I have also seen firsthand how reckless, profit driven development has erased the very things that make Florida special, our coastlines, natural landscapes, and native wildlife.

In 2022, I completed a 2,000 plus mile thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. That journey tested my endurance and reinforced my belief in perseverance, purpose, and resilience. That same mindset led me to start my own small business renovating vintage Airstream travel trailers.

I bring a working class, people first perspective to public service shaped by real world experience and a deep love for the District I call home. We need leaders who can stand up for Florida and who show up every day to support our District. I want to be that leader for you and for us. I am running for office because someone needs to stand up and say enough. We deserve better. Our communities deserve better.
